Water is life. Water is the most precious resource which deserves great attention from the population and any other world players involved in water management. The main challenges in the municipal sector is to extend the access to the drinking water to a wider range of the population and keep on improving the water quality to higher standards to minimise the sanitary impact to the population. In the industrial sector, the main challenge is to reduce the environmental impacts by promoting innovative solutions such as circular economy to ensure sustainable management of the water resources. Most of our clients have great demand for water resources or are highly dependent on water resources, but they are usually located in areas in China that lack water resources. Some clients are located along the Yellow River, but they can neither draw water from it nor release sewage into it. I have visited those clients in the past, and I feel more profound about the value and meaning of water. To our clients, the water management supports we provide manifest the persistence and promise of Resourcers: it is our commitment to resourcing the world for our clients, the society and the environment!

Water is THE one thing we cannot live without! It should be more valuable than gold but often we use it and pollute it without thinking or knowing about the consequences. We need to preserve water as it is essential for life and health. Do you want to eat fish full of plastic or rice laden with heavy metals? No?! Then we need to treat our most precious resource a little better and not take it for granted!

Small steps we can do at home include only using what we need: turn the tap off when brushing your teeth, only putting on a full load of washing, 5 minute showers, etc...

It can be said that all my work revolves around water. Since I started working in 2004, I have been dealing with water, and three of the business cases impressed me most.

In the East District Sewage Plant, the industrial wastewater treated by the double membrane device is turned into drinkable ultra-pure water that does not scale even when fed into the boiler! The high-concentration oily industrial wastewater sent to the West District Wastewater Treatment Plant is also clear and transparent after treatment. Moreover, in the Niukouyu Wastewater Treatment Plant, the purified water constitutes a well-known wetland park that attracts numberless tourists! I have personally experienced the changes Veolia has brought to the environment. I am proud of being part of these changes, and I hope to devote my life to my beloved enterprise and environmental protection in the future!
