2023 International Health and Safety Week

THE RIGHT REFLEXES OF US ALL

From September 18 to 22, 2023, the 9th Veolia International Health and Safety Week with the theme "Safe Reflex" was held as scheduled. Acting on behaviors remains a priority. This year, our main focus is to raise awareness about adopting good practices to prevent accidents caused by unconscious errors.

We have planned a week-long series of health and safety activities across our projects and offices in China Mainland and Macau, including workshops using Veolia Group's Toolbox resources and Veolia Asia's Life-Saving Rules Games, all under the theme of "Safe Reflex."

The H&S Performance Contract is on track and Life-saving Rules and 1st set of updated 5 HRMS have been deployed. In 2023, we launched training modules for Traffic Management, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, and Work at Heights to ensure that everyone's life is always protected. The twelve Life-Saving Rules are non-negotiable; everyone has a responsibility to always follow these rules.

On the other hand, the ExCom members of Veolia China Mainland and Macau played their respective roles in the Life-Saving Rules Commitment Video, which was presented to all as part of the opening session of H&S Week.

HiPo-Spotting Contest

In May 2023, we launched a life-size HiPo-Spotting Contest across our projects in Mainland China and Macau BU. Out of the 53 Hi-Po reports submitted, a jury panel, consisting of members from each business line, evaluated and selected the winners for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards.

H&S activities over BLs & project sites

For example, Urumqi project organized employees to watch and discuss safety reflex videos together and a face-to-face workshop where safety testing was conducted in groups. Shanghai VET organized a fault finding game targeting traffic risks. Dongying project organized a SCBA Skill competition, etc.
